Citrus - Chlorosis
Symptoms
Symptoms start on young, fully developed and medium leaves. Between veins yellow green or yellow blotches appear (leaf mottling) and extend over the interveinal areas.
Along the veins a dark green border remains green.
With severe deficiency necrotic spots, sometimes white in color, develop on the whole leaves (chlorotic areas and green zones) .
Reasons
Manganese deficiency on leaves of lemon
Manganese deficiency on citrus made worse by
- Organic soils
- Sandy soils
- High pH
- Cold wet periods
- Fluffy soils
Manganese is important for
- Combats chlorosis
- Prevents premature leaf fall
- Gives healthier greener trees
