YARA@30 Shamba Stars Application – Terms and Conditions
1. Eligibility
•Applicants MUST be Kenyan citizens aged 18 to 30 years at the time of application.
•Applicants MUST be actively engaged in agriculture, food systems, or related community innovation, education, advocacy, or entrepreneurship.
•Applications MUST be submitted by the official deadline through the provided platform or channels.
2. Accuracy of Information
All information provided must be truthful, complete, and accurate to the best of the applicant’s knowledge.
•Any misrepresentation or falsification may lead to immediate disqualification.
3.Use of Content
•By submitting this application, the applicant grants YARA and its partners the right to use submitted content (e.g. images, videos, stories) for campaign promotion, public awareness, and media dissemination.
•This usage is non-exclusive, royalty-free, and includes social media, TV, radio, website, print, and exhibitions.
4. No Financial or Commercial Entitlement
•Participation in the YARA@30 Shamba Stars campaign is voluntary and non-remunerated.
•Selection does not constitute employment, consultancy, or commercial engagement with YARA.
•There is no promise of financial reward, grant, or monetary compensation through this program.
•Any support offered (e.g. training, recognition, in-kind exposure) is at YARA’s sole discretion and may vary by participant.
5. Selection Process
•A panel of independent experts and YARA representatives, based on predetermined criteria, will conduct the judging process.
•The panel’s decision is final and not subject to appeal.
•YARA reserves the right to verify applicant information, request additional documentation, or disqualify entries without notice.
6. Participation and Conduct
•Selected Fellows are expected to conduct themselves with integrity, respect, and professionalism in all campaign activities.
•Any behavior that tarnishes the reputation of the campaign, fellow participants, or YARA may lead to immediate disqualification.
7. Data Protection
•Applicants’ data will be handled in line with the Kenya Data Protection Act (2019).
•Data will be used solely to manage the campaign, selection, communication, and reporting.
•Applicants may request access, correction, or deletion of their data by contacting the Data Protection Officer.

8. Consent
